About our League
The Minnetonka-Hopkins Girls' Fastpitch Softball Program (MHGS) is a community-based league of fastpitch softball teams, based in Hopkins, MN.
Our program provides an opportunity for girls to learn the sport through our instructional programs and clinics, while emphasizing the fun that comes from softball's recreational and social aspects.
Girls' fastpitch softball is an exciting and fun-filled team sport. Through learning and playing softball, our players enjoy the feeling of achievement from their individual efforts as well as the comaraderie of team play.
Teams are formed by grade, and team placements are made after Evaluation Day in the spring. MHGS teams play a game schedule with surrounding communities’ softball leagues at our fields and theirs. Other participating communities are Plymouth/Wayzata, St. Louis Park and Orono. The season begins approximately mid-April, and ends before the end of June for girls in grades K-3 or mid-July for girls in grades 4-12. For a more exact schedule, please see our league Calendar.
If you want to participate in softball, fastpitch is the sport which enables you to learn fun skills, enjoy friendly yet competitive games, get some great physical exercise, and have a sport you can participate in from an early age through high school and college.
On this web site you can find information about how to sign up play MHGS softball. We hope you will join us!
MHGS is in need of Board Members!
The continuation and success of the MHGS program is dependent upon parent involvement.
No special skills are needed, just an interest in volunteering your time and energy to help the league run for our girls!
